I believe that everyone has the ability to makes changes, gain understanding, build upon their strengths, and heal, given the right resources and support. I use an eclectic approach, which allows for flexibly of techniques because everyone’s situation is unique. My primary background is in cognitive behavioral therapy, person centered and solution focused. Experience has demonstrated that the relationship between the client and the therapist is one of the strongest catalysts for growth, change, and understanding. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental, and confidential atmosphere, which promotes healing, growth and empowerment to live the life you desire.

Confidentiality is one of the most important components between a client and therapist. Successful therapy requires a high degree of trust with highly sensitive subject matter. I will provide you with a written copy my confidential disclosure agreement. By law your therapist cannot release this information without obtaining your written permission, except in a few limited situations.

Legally there are some exceptions to this rule and these situations are rare. I will make every effort to speak to you about this beforehand. A therapist must report the following situations to appropriate authorities:

• Suspected abuse
• Threat of serious harm to another person
• Threat of harm to client himself or herself

I practice under the guidelines of the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy (2010) and the American Counseling Association Code of Ethics Section B: Confidentiality.

Appointments for individual therapy are 50 minutes, and 1 hour and 20 minutes for couples.

That depends on your individual situation. Some clients come every week, and others come less frequently. After your first session we can discuss how many sessions we think you might need. I typically recommend that you start with 6 to 8 sessions. After that we can review where you are in the process and decide from there. Ultimately it is your decision on how long to continue with therapy, and I want you to come as often, or as rarely, as is best for your situation.

Please contact me to discuss this.

Fees are paid at the end of each session. First appointments are requested to please pay in advance via pay pal.
